Boston Welcomes the Largest Chilean Innovation Event Abroad

This year, Boston—a city known for its energy and innovation—hosted ChileMass Innovation Day 2024, a milestone event that celebrated the growing synergy between Chile and Massachusetts. It was an inspiring gathering, packed with impactful announcements and ideas that could shape the future for Chilean startups.

Key Announcements and Milestones

One of the biggest moments was the announcement of a new $40 million venture fund led by AccelHub Venture Partners. With its sights set on supporting Chilean tech startups, AccelHub’s decision is a testament to the rich talent emerging in Chile. Greg Bauer, a partner at ScaleUp Labs, reflected on this with excitement: “Chile has an incredible pool of talent, and this fund allows us to strengthen ties and bring U.S. investment to an ecosystem with immense potential.”

The Startup Campus project was another highlight. This accelerator platform, created to foster cross-border connections, will enable Chilean and Massachusetts entrepreneurs to access mentorship and resources, bridging the gap between two thriving innovation communities. And in a nod to growing international support, a major Californian accelerator announced plans to open a Chilean office—a powerful step in connecting Chilean startups to global markets.

Connecting for a Stronger Future

ChileMass Innovation Day wasn’t just about announcements; it was about building relationships. The event included ChileMass Talks, featuring respected voices like Gabriel Cid, CEO of ProChile, and Susan Segal, President and CEO of the Americas Society. More than 200 people—entrepreneurs, investors, public officials, and leaders—came together for discussions, workshops, and networking, united by a shared belief in Chile’s potential to make waves internationally.

As ChileMass Innovation Day 2024 wrapped up, the sense of connection and excitement was palpable. This annual event is a unique space to celebrate and strengthen Chile’s ties with innovation hubs like Boston, laying the groundwork for future growth and global reach.
